Non-Banner courses can be requested by completing the request form which will be forwarded to your Vice President for approval. Once approved, the Coastline Canvas Administrator will create the course. Depending on the current work load of the Canvas Administrator it may take up to two weeks to process.
Canvas is a learning management system built to focus on assignments, discussions, quizzes, and grades for course management. Canvas is a great platform for communicating with students and hosting coursework content. Unfortunately, it does not meet all of the needs campus groups, organizations, and other various entities. Perhaps one of the tools in the chart below might be a better fit for your needs? If you find a Canvas course is still your best choice, complete the request form below.

To request a non-Banner Canvas course (one that is not linked to the official course schedule) complete the request form below.
Only employees of Coastline Community College, with an official Coastline email, can request a non-Banner course for official Coastline business use. If your usage does not fall into official Coastline use, you can request a free Canvas course shell directly from Instructure.
Use of the Coastline Canvas system for personal, private, commercial or other uses unrelated to the District are not permitted, and upon discovery such courses will be permanently deleted.
